The Lost City of the Jedi (Star Wars) Review

The Lost City of the Jedi (Star Wars)
Average Reviews:

Out of all the books in this not very good series, this was probably one of the worst. Right behind Zorba the Hutt's Revenge and Queen of the Empire of course. As much as I enjoy it when the characters wander around jungle planets,(my favorite) this book had an unbelievable plot, weak diologue, and an extremely childish writing style. And that Ken is a nice boy and all, but a complete geek. An attempt to relate to the "normal kid" who would be reading this book. Also the characters from the movies are either grossly exagerated, or practicly nonexistant. All of them are warped and and barely recognizabal as Star Wars characters, most of all Luke. Kids twelve and under, for whom this book is intended for, probably won't mind any of that, though, adult and teenage Star Wars fans, such as myself will probably find them boring and silly.

The Glove of Darth Vader (Star Wars , Vol 1) Review

The Glove of Darth Vader (Star Wars , Vol 1)
Average Reviews:

These books were meant for children NOT ADULTS! Therefore they need not be constant with the other books that were made for big boys and girls! I really don't think a child will care weather or not Luke flies a Y-wing or X-wing or if it doesn't correspond with the Thrawn trilogy! Children most likely wouldn't be found reading a novel like Heir to the Empire anyway! I bought this book for my friend's younger brother and I skimmed through it. No, TARKIN WAS NOT THE ONLY GRAND MOFF! IN THE MOVIES YES, BUT IN THE GALAXY, NO! DARTH VADER WAS THE ONLY DARK LORD OF THE SITH IN THE MOVIES BUT THERE WERE OBVIOUSLY MORE OF THEM BEFORE HIM! If you're mad at this author for it then also be mad at Zhan because in the Hand of Thrawn saga one of his bad guys is (suprise suprise) a Grand Moff! These stories entertained my friend's little brother greatly. He felt like he was like his big brother and me who were always talking about all the Star Wars novels. These are excellent books for the younger generation that they were meant for. Face it. Star Wars isn't just for the 20+ year old age group it once was. The Special Edition changed that, therefor it was a success.

I am not a big hater of Mr. Anderson like a lot of people are. These were written to a younger audience and he achieved it. They are still interesting and these stories play a big part in the following books. I would recommend this book to Star Wars fans young and old. I'm sorry I waited to read these but it makes them more interesting knowing what happens to them later.

Star Wars - Dark Forces: Rebel Agent Review

Star Wars - Dark Forces: Rebel Agent

I bought this graphic novel on a whim! I'm an avid Star Wars fan and am willing to read anything Star Wars. However, graphic novels tend to be expensive, so I usually just satisfy my Star Wars cravings with a regualr novel. I saw my opportunity to check out this portion of the Dark Forces trilogy, based upon the Dark Forces video game, when it was marked down as a special deal in a local store. I figured that if I didn't like the novel, I didn't pay much for it, and I can sell it off. Well, I can say with confidence that there is no way I'm going to sell this graphic novel!...
...Not only will you find the story entertaining, but the artwork is amazing. The novel has 25 lithograph-style pictures beautifully done by Ezra Tucker. The story is full of action and you'll find yourself rooting for Kyle and his partner Jan. I find myself wanting to get a hold of the rest of the series! Definitely a trilogy worth checking out!

When they get to Kessel they learn that the administraitor has had a assasination attempt on him and Anja has left to Mon Calanmari. Leaving Jaina & Lowbacca to watch over the administrator. When the rest of the gang arrives at Mon Calamari they meet with the Jedi healer/ambassador they meet Anja and decide to destroy the evil Czethros (who smuggles andris spice) spice hideaway under the ocean. But Czethros has landed troops on Kessel for a takeover, and only Jaina & Lowbacca stand in his way! The book is exciting with lots of action. I recomend it to all Star Wars readers.

If you are a younger reader who had trouble reading the adult version of Shadows of the Empire(I know I used to!), or a kid who wants to read a great story about Star Wars, this is the book for you. It captures all the fun and excitement of the adult book, but it is easier to read and is shorter. 9Not to mention is says how to pronounce Xizor! In my opinion, this is a great buy!

This book is one incredible book considering the fact that Perry really couldn't develope the characters very much. It lets us in on Darth Vader's thoughts and it shows us how he isn't always thrilled to do the Empiror's bidding and we find out that Vader feels for his son. This, of course, leads to the ending of Return of the Jedi. An incredible book!!! A must-read!!!

Shards of Alderaan (Star Wars: Young Jedi Knights, Book 7) Review

Shards of Alderaan (Star Wars: Young Jedi Knights, Book 7)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Recommendation This book takes place in the Tatooine. I would recommend this book for People between the ages of 11-14 because it presents a wide of survival events in Tatooine that were both exciting and intense. A reason that this book was exciting was the things that Jacen and Jaina ran into in space. "Jacen said that this is the best trip to Alderaan because they did something for their mother. Then they went to their mother to give her the rock she said what is this they said a rock from Alderaan. I recommendation this book to people who likes to read Star Wars because if you do not like Star Wars you will not like this book. "Dad," Jaina said. "Jacen and I have been trying to come with just the perfect gift for Mom's birthday. That means that they love their mother a lot "Then Leia said that if Jacen and Jaina don't work together they will not get back." That means that they will not get back at all.

Journey Across Planet X (Star Wars: Science Adventures, Book 2) Review

Journey Across Planet X (Star Wars: Science Adventures, Book 2)
Average Reviews:

I have a 10 years old boy and I have borrowed the first book in this Star Wars Science Adventures ,Emergency in Escape Pod Four (Star Wars Science Adventures),from the local library. The combination between text and drawings grabbed my attention so I have start reading this book. The results was that I could not wait to get the sequel which is the "Journey Across Planet X".
If you are really interested in your children scientific education get these books as soon as you can.I believe in multidisciplinary education (you can see some of my projects at [...]) and I was really impressed by this two little books.I am surprised to see that nobody else reviewed them yet.
The action is not complicated and the end of each chapter will make you curious to read right away the next one.The style is alert, full of dialogue and a ton of scientific facts ingeniously inserted in the text.I must confess that reading these books I felt almost the same thrill I had some 40 year ago when I read Joules Verne.
I wish I could read more books like this but I am afraid that ,since the book was published in 1999,there will not be another sequel.

Darth Maul (Star Wars Episode 1, Journal #3) Review

Darth Maul (Star Wars Episode 1, Journal #3)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was totally impressed and blown away by this book. It is a glimpse into the mind of very mysterious character, as well as a look into the dark side of the force. I feel that Jude did a wonderful job capturing and portraying the essence that is Lord Maul.
I wouldn't recommend this book for young readers, however, as there is quite a bit of violence in it (to be expected from the dark side), and some of the training flashbacks could be especially disturbing to young readers.
This book does a great job of fleshing out Darth Maul, and adding additional depth to the character we see in the movie. The flashbacks to his training as a young boy with Darth Sidious are especially intriguing. It gives us insight and compassion into how events shape a young life. There were moments that I actually felt sorry for the young Maul!
I highly recommend this book to any Star Wars fan, and especially to Darth Maul fans everywhere, young and old (I am in my mid 20s, and I was captivated by the story.)
Darth Maul fans, Run, don't walk, and get this book!

The Ties That Bind (Star Wars: Jedi Apprentice, Book 14)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have had the privaliage of reading this book already. I thought that it was one of the best in the series. Jude watson is a great writer and always manages to write wonderful (yet sort) stories. I have to say that this one of favorite boooks in the series. In this book obi-wan is now 16. And still under the training of Qui-gon Jinn. The thing that I really appreciated in this book is how jude watson shows how the relationship between them has grown since the last book "The dangerous rescue" The plot of this book begins with Qui-gon having a very powerful vision of his long time friend tahl in some sort of great danger. So he races back to the temple only to find that she is just fine and on her way to a mission to a planet that the two of them had visited 6 years ago. The planet's leader had been mudered and the temple had received a message from his twin daughters requesting help to get off the planet. Qui-gon does not want tahl to go by herself, still she does anyway. After a while Qui-gon gets anxious and decides to go after her even though it forbidden by the jedi council. He goes to the planet only to discover that things are not what they seem and that danger for the jedi is everywhere. This book is filled with suspense and some really great plot twists and I recommand it to anyone that is a fan of te jedi apprentice series. This book IS another really exciting cliffhanger, you have been warned.

Do you like Star Wars? Well if you do you should read the book the Diversty Aliance part of the Jouner Jedi Kinghts series. Its about after the movies. Its hard to compare to any series because most of the other books are about the movies. The book the Diversty Aliance is about a group of aliens called the Diversty Aliance that are looking for a plague that can kill all human life but aliens are immune to it. There leader has sent allmost every bounty hunter to find it. I think it was a good book for ages 9-13 I read this book in 1day. I liked it because I`m a Star Wars fan and you get to read about some old charters like Han Solo And some new ones like Louwe.

I have always loved Star Wars. I was a little ifish about reading the books thinking it wouldn't be as good. How wrong was I. It was cool how Jacen fell off of Cloud City. A very nice touch.his return was also interesting. It was nice how Tenel Ka can be so different when in mourning over her thought to be dead friend. It made her seem more real. If you don't like this book you must be crazy! And that is a fact!

Queen Amidala (Star Wars Episode 1, Journal #2)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I remember the magic of the original Star Wars (I was 11 at the time), and I've been rather dismayed at the huge marketing campaign around the Phantom Menace. I picked up this book expecting it to be as trashy as a Taco Bell toy. Much to my surprise, it actually conveys significant insights into Queen Amidala/Padme which did not come out in the movie, nor in Terry Brooks' novelization. The author did a good job of imitating the style of a 14-year-old girl, but beneath the prosaic writing you feel that there's a real person, one whom you can admire and sympathize with. Only two complaints -- it's too short, and the pictures are too repetitive. Surely with more than two hours of film, they could have found a few different shots of Amidala/Padme.

The School of Fear (Star Wars: Jedi Quest)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
A Senator's son, Gillam, disappeared from the elite Leadership School on Andara. The Jedi High Council sent two padawans undercover.
Anakin Skywalker would pose as one there by scholarship. Ferus Olin (Anakin's rival) would pose as the son of someone important. The teens' mission had two parts. The first and most important part was to locate and rescue Gillam. The second part was to learn about a renegade squad of young mercenaries that used the school as a training ground.
***** Brava, Jude Watson! This, in my opinion, is the best of the J.Q. series thus far. Readers get to see another glimpse or two into Anakin's potential. The story is well written and the characters' traits are flawless! Highly recommended! *****

Lyric's World (Star Wars: Junior Jedi Knights, Book 2) Review

Lyric's World (Star Wars: Junior Jedi Knights, Book 2)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This book was my favorite in the Junior Jedi Knights series. I love the Melodies! The idea of a planet where kids rule is sooo cool! However, I don't think Luke should have let Anakin and Tahiri go on a dangerous trip like that with only Peckum to watch out for them, and even he is conveniently gotten rid of as soon as they land. Luke should have at least sent a Jedi with them. But then, part of why I love this book is because the kids are on their own protecting themselves, so what am I complaining about? One thing I wondered about was what ever happened to Sannah? She is never mentioned again in any other book, and I rather liked her character. I would recommend this book to any Star Wars fan, but kids twelve and under would probably enjoy it best. When I first read this at age ten I thought it was the best book I had ever read, and even now I still enjoy reading this series.

The Fight for Justice by Luke Skywalker (Star Wars Journal) Review

The Fight for Justice by Luke Skywalker (Star Wars Journal)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I read this book one day when I was grounded and it was so sitting-on-the-edge-of-my-seat, rivetingly good that I didn't want to come out! It is written in journal form about what Luke was thinking and feeling during A New Hope, though this book spans a little before it too. This was especially interesting for me, since Luke has always been my favorite character. Part of why I loved it is that it was not simply yet another retelling of the original story, but breathed new life into it, and made it even more interesting, and considering that I have seen this movie so many times I practicly have it memerized, that is quite a feat. My one complaint of this book was that, though the character of Luke was explored deeply and in ways that few other books have, all the other characters were pretty much left out with the exception of Leia, since Luke was thinking quite a lot about her at this time. But then again, when I write in my journal I usually don't focus on other people either, and since this is supposed to be Luke's journal, that does make sense. In short, this was a wonderfull book that I would reccamend to any Star Wars fan, especially those who love Luke.
