(More customer reviews)This book means a great deal to me since my father was a also an officer of the U.S. Army artillery unit profiled in this memoir and a close friend of the author. The author has written a personal narrative of WWII during 1941-45 that adds a human dimension from a young artillery officer's point of view, something that allows me to understand the hardship of that great war on my parent's generation.
