(More customer reviews)A Nallastian freighter sends out a distress signal and a Fondor Space Patrol ship responds. Although they cannot find the freighter, they do find a mysterious ship that appears to be the Sun Runner. The Sun Runner is a ghost ship that supposedly carries devices that will render other ships inoperable. Shortly after dispatching a message droid to the superior, the Space Patrol vessel suddenly goes silent.
This triggers the potential for a war between Fondor and Nallastia and three Jedi knights, Bultar Swan, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker are dispatched to mediate. At a very heated point in the negotiations, there is a power disruption aboard their ship due to contact with the purported Sun Runner. Obi-Wan and Anakin then board fighters and fly to the Sun Runner. As they approach the ship, it fires a missile at them. They evade and destroy the missile and Anakin manages to board the ship. After fighting his way to the control room, he defeats the droid crew and frees all the captive ships.
Since the ship is now on a collision course with an inhabited world, Anakin and Obi-Wan destroy the ship. However, the unfired missiles are still intact, so Anakin flies his fighter after them and destroys them. The resultant blast disables his ship and he crash-lands on Nallastia. The story ends with Anakin marooned on Nallastia and Anakin returning to his base ship because his fighter is out of fuel.
This is an action adventure that maintains the action and style of banter between Obi-Wan and Anakin that was used in Star Wars episodes 1 through 3. Written for young people, it is exciting to read, although disappointing at the end. The unresolved situation with Anakin is a source of frustration and an obvious ploy to "encourage" the reader to obtain the next book in the series.
