Star Wars Pop Up Limited Edition Review

This book is simply amazing. I own this Limited Edition and another copy signed by the author. I purchased two others to give as gifts to my teen-age grandsons. Guests in my house have looked through this book and given gasps of surprise when they view the intricacy of the mechanisms to be found on each page, and the last page -featuring Darth Vader and the light sabers, actually drew applause from onlookers. Matthew Reinhart is a genius, pure and simple.

Star Wars: The Mos Eisley Cantina Pop-Up Book Review

Star Wars: The Mos Eisley Cantina Pop-Up Book

The book is very misleading. On the outside it appears to have several pages of popups, but on opening the book, there are several illustrations, but only one popup scene of the entire cantina. The author should have given the reader several diffirent popup scenes.

Battle of the Bounty Hunters (Star Wars) Review

Battle of the Bounty Hunters (Star Wars)

First, I have to say that I haven't purchased a popup book in twelve plus years, and was happy to see Boba Fett's exploits placed in this format. It reminded me of the first time I saw Boba Fett as a kid, and that was a nice, though seldom experienced, sensation. The problem with this piece was that it really didn't have that much content and the price, for eighteen dollars, averages out to a buck fifty a page. Moreover, most of these images have already been displayed in other comic forums. Still, being a popup book, you really can't expect too much from the story (even though I thought Dark Horse might provide a little substance, and I can forgive the redundancy of the images. I liked it, but I'm not so certain I would tell anyone to buy it for the cover cost.

First-ever comic book fully produced as a pop-up! The notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett is heading through hyperspace with priceless cargo. His destination: Tatooine, home of Jabba the Hutt. The cargo: one Han Solo, frozen solid in carbonite. But if Boba thought encasing Solo in carbonite was the hardest part of this mercenary mission, he's going to have his eyes opened. It seems Boba's not the only one who wants to collect this bounty . . . Taking place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, Battle of the Bounty Hunters is part of the Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire storyline. Battle of the Bounty Hunters is a first-of-its-kind pop-up comic book, and with the awe-inspiring painted artwork of Christopher Moeller, it's sure to thrill readers both young and old!

Heroes: A Pop-up Storybook (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) Review

Heroes: A Pop-up Storybook (Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Young Star Wars readers will adore "Heroes." The book introduces some of the good guys in the CGI Clone Wars TV show. "Heroes" features Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, R2-D2, Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex. Each page features a mini write-up on the character. A few comic book style panels show scenes of that character in the TV show. Some pages have an additional pop-up character. These somewhat hidden pop-ups include Kit Fisto, C-3PO and Commander Cody. Employing the most modern techniques for these sorts of books, the pop-ups are stunning. While opening, the characters often seem to jump into their pose. Moving the pages up and down, the figures seem to move naturally. The moving parts seem sturdy enough, so the book should get some good use before inevitably falling apart. The title is a nice accompaniment to "A Pop-Up Guide to the Galaxy" and it makes readers anticipate the release of a corresponding "Villains." Delight any padawan reader with "Heroes."
