(More customer reviews)Well, I thought it was funny at least. While it may go for the easy gag, the bad pun, or the totally absurd... it still made me laugh.
The easiest description would be "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead" meets Star Wars. It's the adventure of two dimwitted (and previously unnamed) background characters from the Star Wars saga, and their adventures that accidentally steer the course of the trilogy.
The original two-issue mini series was an absolute classic. The follow-up from about a year ago was a bit forced, and not quite as funny. But still funny. Not sure about the other contents of this trade, but I think there's a story or two that I haven't read.
Writer Kevin Rubio was responsible for "TROOPS" the parody video that mashed up stormtroopers with "COPS." If you like that kind of humor, you'll enjoy this.
Side note: I saw this trade in a comics shop, and it had a different cover than pictured. Not sure if there are variants, or if the Amazon art is not current, but what I saw was nicer than what's pictured.

It includes a detailed, diary account of the day-to-day making of "Jedi." It includes actual telex messages (before the email/Internet era) between the filmmakers, set schedules, actual call sheets, and much, much more! This will make any Star Wars fan drool, but it's also for students of the filmmaking process. The sheer detail of the information inside will satisfy even the most demanding Star Wars fan.

Obsessed with Star Wars Review

(More customer reviews)I have to admit that I am *not* obsessed with Star Wars. I've seen Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi a few times each, but the remaining films only once. I haven't read the comics or books, either. So, I went into this expecting to have my light saber handed to me. That being said, I still had fun with this interactive trivia book. It's electronic scoring module starts in random question mode, which selects questions from anywhere in the book. You can also change the module so that you choose which questions to try. Much better for someone like me who is "familiar with star wars".
The questions range from easy (what color is Obi-Wan's light saber?) to downright difficult. So, I think all fans will find something they like. After a few questions that were obviously from the movie that I got wrong, I wanted to go back and watch the movie again to see what I missed.
This is a great gift for a Star Wars fan. 2,500 questions will take A LOT OF TIME to get through (maybe 18 hours or so) so it's a good value for $29, even better if you get it here for a discount. The batteries are replaceable, so you can use it as long as you'd like. I am only partially through it.
